Part of an RPG September 30, 2007 Ramsey G. Lundock 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
Be Warned you are not buying a full RPG. Like D&D requires 3 books to play, if you want to include any vehicles in your campaign you will also need Classic BattleTech and at least one Technical Readout. If you want to get full use of the book, you'll need 9 different Technical Readouts, some of which have been out of print for a decade. While not a bad RPG, the Classic Battle Tech RPG suffers from a case of schizophrenia. It states that it is written with the assumption that the characters in the game are the "everyone else in the world" who never pilot Battle Mechs, however all but one of the example characters drives a war machine of one kind or another. This schism pops up over and over again in the book. If you've played a couple of different RPGs, I think you could have fun with this book, but if its your first, you will probably have trouble understanding it.
