Product Description In Rogue Trader, you take on the role of a Rogue Trader and his most trusted counselors, empowered by an ancient warrant of trade to seek out profit and plunder amongst unexplored regions of space. Your ship will take you to new worlds and uncharted reaches of the void, where you will encounter rivals, pirates, aliens, and possibly even creatures of the warp. You will acquire and spend great wealth and riches, and fame or infamy will follow. You will discover ancient and forgotten mysteries and search out the unknown to find lost human worlds or never before seen celestial phenomena. You must survive the dangers of space, for beyond the threat of vacuum and deadly radiation lurk things Man was never meant to find.

| Customer Reviews: Fantastic Setting April 12, 2010 M. Roberts (Auburn, CA United States) 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
Like Dark Heresy, I thought that this book was a fantastic description of the Warhammer 40K universe, a setting that I love. However, I don't feel like the system they implemented actually creates interesting battles or rewards interesting tactics. Our space battles became a rinse and repeat sequence of boarding actions combined with completely outmaneuvering our opponents with Ease (The party had a RT with good command and I was a Void Master master of space). The main issue is that the skill rolls in this system are highly random in an unrealistic fashion. It quickly becomes frustrating when your character repeatedly fails at basic tasks. Essentially: Setting = Fantastic, System = kludgy and aggravating.
Excellent Game March 1, 2010 R. T. Spencer (Ohio) 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
If you like the WH40K universe and you like your PC's fragile, this game is for you. It is unforgiving and tough. In other words, awesome!
SUPER January 18, 2010 A. Jensen (Denmark) 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
This is the the new roleplaying book in a triology of warhammer 40000, roleplaying games. Dark heresy was the first, where you are acolytes of the inqusition then This book Roguetrader, where you are a trademan with your own spaceship, and the last in the series is Deathwatch, where you are going to play a spacemarine..(not releashed yet)
You can use this book together, with your Dark Heresy book, and i must say it is one of the best roleplaying games on the market.
Do yourself a favour and buy this book, if you like a little more freedom, than in dark heresy... It is a dark brooding universe, and not for young children, best for older players, who are tired of D&D 4ed.
Great buy and good system with a little house ruling January 10, 2010 Sean Baker (San Jose, CA USA) 1 out of 4 found this review helpful
My Sunday gaming group is currently having a lot of fun with this system, and I got my book in great condition with minimal wait!
Though I would suggest house ruling a few things, for example, my group house rules the dodge skill. In the book's rules, in order to dodge either melee or ranged attacks, all one has to do is pass a dodge test based on the user's agility. If the user passes, they dodge whatever was coming at them, period. My group has changed it so that we compare steps of success of the person that attacks and the roll of the dodge. If the attacker has more successes, the attack goes through, if the defender has more successes or in the result of a tie, the attack is dodged. In case of a failed dodge roll, treat it as normal.
Pure enjoyment. November 27, 2009 Zachary Schramm (Chicago, IL USA) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
Going into the purchase, I only had a vague idea of what I was getting into with Rogue Trader. I'm only somewhat familiar with pen and paper styled role-playing games. However, I found this relatively easy to jump into, and had a fantastic time rolling up my character. Now that my group and I have gone onto some adventures, I've fallen in love. The rules seem clean (from the little experience that I have with them), and the only real complaint is that there seems to be some things left out of the product. However, it seems as though clarifications are easily found on the Fantasy Flight Games website, and that they are planning on continuing to support the product through further rules supplements and additional products to bring even more fun into your gaming sessions. All around I would have to give this product a fantastic rating. Not only was it quickly sent to my door, but I got it significantly cheaper here on Amazon than I would have at a local book or hobby shops, or from another website retailer. All around fantastic. I highly recommend.
