| Customer Reviews: Great Inspiration March 30, 2009 Fulminata 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
This is the best book for GMs so far from the Dark Heresy line. There's lots of good inspiration for both adventures and campaigns here.
I thought the sections on Hereticus and Xenos were particularly good. If you ever wondered why the Imperium had a shoot first, ask questions later attitude towards the alien, you won't after reading the Xenos section. There's some truly scary and threatening plot ideas there.

As a Dark Heresy GM, when the Inquisitor's Handbook came out, I was stunned at how useful a players handbook it was for everyone, and inside I was jealous that the players were getting all the attention.
Not anymore.
This book makes the Inquisitor's Handbook look like a rough draft.
You can't turn a page without getting at least several storyline ideas, new and compelling villains, and plenty of player handouts to make those roleplaying sessions all the more fun.
In addition the adventure included at the end of the book is just fantastic and easily adaptable to whatever storyline you happen to be working on.
Fantasy Flight Games is clearly demonstrating that they know what they are doing, and I can't wait for Creatures Anathema!
Plenty of information and a scary look in to the under belly of the 40k century January 27, 2009 Thanos Xenophon (San Jose, Ca) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
After a couple of failed starts at getting my hands on this book I finally landed a copy.
If your looking for a straight "Monster manual" you will be a little disappointed. And there are none of the major xenos races (Eldar, Ork, Tyranids, etc...)
The book is broken down in to different categories Heretics, Xenos (minor races), Daemons and internal enemies (I find that section the most interesting). Each section has a few major cults and groups that bring even more danger to the eternally dangerous Imperium along with stats on cult members.
There are some extras like new Psychic powers and some guidelines on playing and making heretical characters. There are even a few new toys (mostly evil) to throw in just for fun.
Overall it is a great book if you want to fluff up your games a bit. The book gives you plenty of background info and ways to drive your players in to darker realms of the 40,000 century.
If you get this book be warned... Have a flamer ready and plenty of Bolter rounds in your pockets... You will need it.
An excellent tool January 12, 2009 Timothy Cottrell 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
Disciples of the Dark Gods is an excellent tool for any Dark Heresy GM that can fill the mind with great campaign ideas.
Amazing! January 6, 2009 Karl A. Rodriguez (San Antonio, Texas United States) 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
As with all the Dark Heresy products so far, the production value of this book is very, very good. The printed material is dense, and the art is evocative as is typical with a WH40K-related product.
Chapter 1 was an amazing surprise, giving hints of a sector/galaxy changing event that the GM could use in his game.
The adventure was well conceived and attempts to blend together many elements introduced earlier in the book while giving the GM free reign to customize it for his players.
The middle of the book is rich with information on all the nasty bad guys in the default region for the DH game (Calixix sector), giving their history, organization, leadership and importantly, adventure hooks and ideas on how to incorporate them into your own DH game. All in all, a top notch product (again) by the DH-design team.
