| Customer Reviews: One of the Best DBZ RPGs of all Time July 16, 2010 A Customer Finally a fresh idea for the incredibly, awesome and very popular Dragonball Z. This game has finally done something that hardly any other dbz game does: has new storylines!!! Even though I love the show, I can't stand playing the same storyline over and over so I was very pleased that this game had some new ones. The gameplay is pretty awesome and the sprites for the characters and the attacks are colorful and very detailed. The background is good too, giving it a feel to it. The fighting is fun, it may get repetitive but you don't concentrate on that, instead you focus on defeating the super tough bosses in the game. So the fighting will not get boring as you are challenged. The only con for this game are those little bubbles that show the characters emotions before they talk. It becomes a huge drag. But other than that a terrific RPG for DBZ, good work.
DBZ: Attack of the Saiyans (My opinion) July 14, 2010 J. A. Chávez Hernández This is the first DBZ RPG game I have played, good animation, lot of exploration and combos to discover and the original Japanese voices but you only in battles not in cutscenes.
I recommended to fans of the series or RPG fans.
The best of the Dragonball Z games so far May 26, 2010 Unkhato (Seattle, WA) This game is quite different from the other Dragon Ball Z games. It is a role playing game, although a simple one at that. My first thought as I turned played the game for the very first time was how disappointing it was to see the characters as such small sprites. It takes some getting used to. The storyline is pretty much the same as the other games and as the show although there is quite a bit of silly and pointless side missions which slow down the pace of the story a bit. There really is no introduction to the characters or the storyline in the game so if this is your first exposure to Dragon Ball Z, you'll be lost. Despite its flaws, I still enjoyed the game and the turn based battling style. I would venture to say that this is the best Dragon Ball Z game that I've played.
Old School RPG April 5, 2010 No Name (United States) Dragon Ball: Attack of the Saiyans is a fun 2D RPG. Its like final fantasy but with Dragon Ball characters and specials. You get a limit break type of attack and you can also combo attacks with other party members to make a super attack. You can also swap out party members during battle. The game does not make use of the touch screen at all. Imagine my surprise when I tried tapping on the screen to make the character move and nothing happened. Pretty strange for a DS game not to use the touch screen. The other odd thing about this game is the most of the action appears on the top screen. The bottom screen is for menu commands. The game is also very easy. You level up within 3 or 4 fights and the fights are short. I thought after the a while the leveling up will slow down, but it didn't. So theres no need to level grind because by the time to walk to where the boss is, you would have leveled up from all the random encounters. If you love old school turn based rpgs but hate the frustration of level grinding, you should pick this game up.
DBZ Attack of the Saiyans: The Review March 6, 2010 Maria P. Green For my full in-depth 8 minute review of this game, please check out the video I made on YouTube: [...]
Here are my basic thoughts:
Pros
- Addictive gameplay
- Good graphics
- Covers last saga of Dragon Ball
Cons
- Repetitive gameplay
- Annoying cutscenes
- Dumb filler sometimes
- Doesn't use DS's capabilities
7/10
